Hey luvs,
Welcome to another Purely Talk with us.
This video is way over due as it was one of our top questions we received during our gut healing journey that we did a year ago. “What supplements do we recommend for gut healing, better digestion and skin?” Today we are answering that question.
We’ve learned so much about supplements and how our bodies handle them. Keep in mind that every person will have different results with supplements depending on what level of health you are in, low on any vitamins, etc. but we feel just about everyone would benefit from a few of these.
We hope this helps you in your journey to better health starting from the inside! Again here are the brands for probiotic and digestive enzymes we like.
We go over in the video more about why we love each one and why we feel they are worth it.
Enjoy the video.
1. Magnesium
2. Fermented Cod liver oil
3. L-glutamine
4. Probiotic
5. Digestive enzymes
And for the bonus supplement :
Gelatin
What exactly is gelatin? Gelatin is just a processed version of a structural protein called collagen that is found in many animals, including humans. Collagen actually makes up almost a third of all the protein in the human body.
We feel taking gelatin regularly has helped a lot with our skin and digestive issues plus improved our hair and nails! Gelatin helps with other amazing things like collagen, joints, good source of protein and helps to digest foods.
We like the Great Lakes brand. Another good brand is Bernard Jensen. Of course having bone broth is a great way to enjoy the benefits of gelatin as well.
Lately we’ve heard that most people eat way too much omega-6 fatty acids while not getting enough omega-3s. Plus most people do not eat enough saturated fats and instead eat too much low fat foods. Most people are out of balance with their amino acid intake (building blocks for protein). If you look back on what our ancestors ate it would be no surprise as they ate every part of the animal. They did not have boneless/skinless meat options back then. So it makes sense that most of us do not get enough gelatin naturally in our diet.
We know taking gelatin is not for everyone, and that’s fine. But if you are suffering from poor gut and digestive health we highly recommend it.
How we eat gelatin:
We first started off eating it like this
Then upgraded to these recipes:
And our purely fitters know how we eat it mostly now as we shared our daily breakfast in the club.

Why I don’t take fish oil
As we mentioned in the video, we are still taking these supplements to this day. And plan to continue them for a little bit longer. Though we have this feeling that most of them we will probably continue to take for the rest of our lives. We’ve seen just such improvement in our overall health, that we plan to continue to supplement with them in our daily diet. Though, we have another feeling that our improvements were not just from these few supplements but also from eating mostly real foods and giving our bodies time to heal!
Of course we will keep you updated if things change or if we find something else worth sharing
