Begin your day with this metabolism-boosthing, gut-healing Cinnamon Coconut Latte.
While this coffee drink isn’t sweet per se it sure is creamy and frothy! Even better, it’s packed with nutritional properties that are gut-healing, metabolism boosting, and will keep you satisfied all morning long. You won’t find these perks in any other latte or coffee drink that you find at most coffee shops (sorry Starbucks!). But no sweat, because this latte is oh so easy to make. All you need are a few ingredients; organic coffee (decaf or regular), our go-to collagen peptides, and a blender. Simple as pie! And if you like the sounds of this recipe, you’re also going to love our Gut-Healing Pumpkin Spice Latte recipe!
I make this latte almost every morning. It’s how I choose to start my day and here’s why!
This gut-healing cinnamon coconut latte recipe is a twist on the original Bulletproof® coffee, created by Dave Asprey and made popular by his Bulletproof Diet. So what is Bulletproof® coffee? It’s essentially coffee blended with 2-4 tablespoons of healthy fats including Medium Chain Triglyceride (MCT) oils (which are also found in coconut oil) and grass-fed butter….yup, butter (replace with coconut oil if you have a dairy allergy)! Together these fats provide instant energy your body and brain can utilize and as a result boosts metabolism, promotes blood sugar stability, burns fat and improves cognition as well as provides the body with a great source of omega-3 fatty acids, conjugated linoleic acid, beta-carotene, vitamin A, vitamin K, vitamin D, vitamin E, and antioxidants. In addition, the fats will help to slow down the absorption of caffeine (if choosing regular coffee) and also act as a nice buffer in the stomach compared to drinking straight black coffee on an empty stomach.
Bulletproof® coffee is intended to be a replacement for breakfast and can range anywhere from 250-500 calories. However, I personally like to chew my breakfast…..Are ya with me?! And because this gut-healing cinnamon coconut latte recipe calls for little less fat (~1 Tbsp.), it’s not quite as filling (aka: calorically dense) so I’m able to enjoy it alongside of a healthy meal! I generally have this latte within 1 hour of waking to get my metabolism revved up for the day and a few hours later I enjoy a well-balanced breakfast.
Adding collagen peptides to this cinnamon coconut latte takes this coffee drink to another level of healthiness…….and frothiness!

Look at that froth! We love a high-powered blender like Vitamix, Blendtec or Ninja to get the job done but you can also use a handheld stick (or immersion) blender to make to frothy.
Awesome. It’s time to gather your ingredients, grab your favorite coffee mug, and blend up this gut-healing cinnamon coconut latte to try for yourself.
And if you’d like to add a tiny touch of sweetness, add just ½ – 1 teaspoon of honey or maple syrup but do try to keep added sweeteners at minimum if you’re focused on gut health.
